About the Artist
Kevork Mourad is a New York-based artist and visual storyteller. Often working in collaboration with performing artists, Mourad is known for his live drawing performances utilizing an overhead projector and fluid inks to create compelling, narrative imagery that emerges dynamically within the context of the music. Born in Syria and descended from survivors of the Armenian genocide, several of his projects call attention to the historical and contemporary socio-political issues of the region, and the resilience of its people and culture.
