The Gurwitz International Piano Competition

Multiple Locations – San Antonio, TX

Quadrennial competition that discovers the next generation of top young pianists from around the world and celebrates cultural diversity by bridging the art of classical piano with World Music. All events free except Round IV and Awards Brunch.

Musical Sprouts

An educational, arts-infused program where students explore different countries and diverse cultures while learning social-emotional skills, core classroom subjects, and experience the arts through live or virtual concerts. Adapted for public, private or charter schools, homeschool groups, online schools, afterschool programs, and transitional facilities.

Golden Age

Concert series that provides outstanding live music performances to our respected seniors in assisted living and community centers in the greater Bexar County area. This frees senior living residents of logistical and financial challenges of travel by bringing concerts directly to them.

Colburn-Pledge Music Scholarship

Music scholarship that provides college tuition assistance to young Texas string instrument players preparing for careers in classical music. Formerly managed by the foundation of the same name from 1985-2021.

Gurwitz Youth Ambassadors

A program that provides local piano students the opportunity for growth and development through access to masterclasses and performance opportunities in the greater Bexar County area! Ambassadors regularly perform for the Golden Age concert series program.
