About the Work
In her print, The Flaring Night, Sabra Booth gave a Texas spin on one of art history’s most venerated paintings, Van Gogh’s The Starry Night. She used metallic watercolors to print a watercolor monotype with a woodcut on top. The print was exhibited widely throughout New York, as part of a collection of woodcuts in the Totemic 17: Bridgebuilder Portfolio." Edition of 10.

About the Artist
Sabra Booth is an MFA graduate of Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and a BFA graduate from the University of Houston, Houston, Texas. Early experiences on the beaches of south Florida and her present exploration of the Texas landscape affect her artistic vision. Working in a variety of mediums, she uses drawing, mixed media, printmaking, and stop motion animation. She recently was awarded
an Individual Artist Grant 2022 by the Department of Arts & Culture, City of
San Antonio. She will be collaborating with the New York Historical Society and Central Booking, a New York arts organization, on a project about the Brooklyn waterfront in 2024.
