Don’t miss Madrid-born pianist Marta Sánchez’s electrifying solo jazz performance—a night of pure musical brilliance! The Gurwitz 2024 International Piano Competition invites pianist/composer Marta Sánchez as its featured jazz guest artist! Born in Madrid, Spain, Sánchez is actively working in the contemporary creative music scene in New York City and around the globe, blending jazz with a diversity of musical traditions.

Doors & Check-In
- Printed or virtual ticket QR code must be shown at check-in.
- Doors open for ticket holders at 6 PM CST, waitlist at 6:30 PM CST
Waitlist & Walk-ins Policies
- If ticket registration fills up, all others will be subject to join a waitlist.
- Any ticket cancellations will be given to the first available in the waitlist.
- Because it is a free event, we will open seating to anyone still on the waitlist (and any walk-ins) at 6:30 PM CST, 30 minutes before the event begins.

Are tickets required for entry to the concert?
Yes, but they are free! (Seating not assigned)
Do donations count as a ticket?
No. Though donations are greatly appreciated and help to keep these events free & open to the public, you should select the correct amount of admission tickets for you/your attending party.
How do I get a ticket?
Tickets are available on this page, mbaw.org/gurwitz/attend or on Eventbrite.
What if I forget to register?
An attendant at the door can help you register quickly and easily. We do not turn away guests if space is available.
If I registered and can no longer attend, what should I do?
If you cannot attend, we ask that you cancel out your free ticket order. This helps our ticket management process and eases the check-in process for attendants and guests the day of.
What do I show at the door/check-in?
Please have your printed or online ticket(s) ready when you get there. Please keep in mind that each person plus each session of this round has a separate ticket/QR code that you must present. If you lose your ticket, please tell the attendant your first and last name.
What are the current health protocols I need to follow?
Masks/social distancing is not currently required.
Where do I park?

Is the location ADA-accessible?
Yes
Can I take pictures or video?
No flash photography. We would love for you to capture and share your experience, but we do ask that you be conscientious of others and the artists during the performance so as not to disrupt the event.
