ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Scott Yoo, violin

Scott Yoo is an acclaimed American violinist and conductor, celebrated for his virtuosity and dynamic performances. As a violinist, he has soloed with major orchestras, including the Boston Symphony, Dallas Symphony, and San Francisco Symphony, and has appeared at prestigious chamber music festivals nationwide. He co-founded the Metamorphosen Chamber Orchestra in 1993, leading it as both violinist and conductor. Trained under renowned pedagogues like Dorothy DeLay and Roman Totenberg, Yoo’s early mastery of the violin laid the foundation for his later success as a conductor and music director.
Bion Tsang, cello

Cellist Bion Tsang, an Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient and Tchaikovsky Competition medalist, has captivated audiences worldwide as a soloist, chamber musician, and recording artist. He has performed with major orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Moscow Philharmonic, and Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and collaborated with luminaries like Yo-Yo Ma and Leon Fleisher. A Grammy-nominated artist, his discography spans Beethoven, Brahms, Dvořák, and Bach—the latter recorded on the famed 1713 “Bass of Spain” Stradivari. Tsang has been featured on PBS’s “Now Hear This” hosted by Scott Yoo.
Yungyung Guo, piano

Chinese pianist Yungyung Guo, 2024 Gurwitz International Piano Competition Gold Medalist (San Antonio, TX) and a rising star in classical music, has performed at prestigious venues including the Sydney Opera House, Shanghai Symphony Hall, and Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts. A prize winner at major competitions like the Sydney International Piano Competition (2023) and New Orleans International Piano Competition (2024), she has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Sydney Symphony and Mexico City Philharmonic under conductors like Benjamin Northey and Scott Yoo.
