Jennifer Reed-Martinez

Director of Community Engagement

Born and raised in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee, Jennifer -Reed Martinez received her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. After college, she interned at a residential children’s home called Wears Valley Ranch, and it was there that she fell in love with teaching and working with students from underserved communities. Jennifer would eventually move to Fort Worth, TX to pursue a Masters in Education. Most recently, Jennifer taught high school English for six years at the North East Independent School District in San Antonio, TX. Jennifer joins MBAW as Director of Community Engagement, where she will, among other things, design and oversee development of programs such as Kids to Concerts, the Musical Sprouts educational curriculum program, and Golden Age senior program. Jennifer is passionate about supporting young adults in recovery by volunteering at Comfort Cafe, and she enjoys traveling, seeing live music, reading, kayaking, gardening, and spending time with her husband, Angel, and her three boys, Gabriel, Joseph, and Benjamin.
