Director of Educational Outreach
Caleb Gonzalez was the recipient of Musical Bridges Around the World’s 2011 Volunteer Award, and is a driving force in bringing the organization’s educational programming to where it is today. Captured onto the MBAW staff, Caleb currently works directly with schools by assessing and evaluating their current needs, in turn facilitating educational concerts, curriculum development, and implementation through the Musical Sprouts program. He has also provided in-kind donations of sound and musical equipment through his business, BandStar Music.
Mr. Gonzalez studied Fine Arts at San Antonio College and the University of Texas at San Antonio, and has a Masters in Education from Lamar University. He has been involved in education for over 25 years as an after school teacher, fine arts teacher, and school counselor in the Southwest and Northside Independent School Districts in San Antonio, TX. Caleb has led fine arts programs for over 17 years in elementary and middle schools and served as Theater Director and School Counselor concurrently for a period. He continues to serve schools, run programs through his company, and work as an independent advocate for the arts and how it applies to the self efficacy of children. He and his beautiful wife, Dalila, have two boys, Ethan and Levi.
