When Gabriel Zertuche, Artistic Director of Ballet San Antonio called MBAW Vice President Suhail Arastu and asked if he would consider performing in “The Nutcracker” this year, Suhail told him that he was dragged to that ballet every year as a child!  Zertuche said that it’s much more fun when you’re in it, so he agreed to join the cast.

Suhail says it’s proven true-he’s come to know a great cast through their rehearsals and first four performances.  He said the Ford/Powell/Carson architect Chris Carson recently returned from a trip to Moscow and compared Friday night’s opening performance to the Bolshoi!  The Magestic was sold out both Friday and Saturday night last week.

Suhail says he’s come to intimately appreciate both Tchaikovsky and the art of choreography, costume and elegant set design through the experience.  He invites everyone to come see the show-they have 4 performances left this weekend!  Click here for more information and tickets.
