As we reflect on the remarkable moments of our 28th season and look ahead to what comes next, our mission feels more urgent and meaningful than ever. In a world often filled with tension and division, the arts have a unique ability to break through stereotypes, remove barriers and remind us of our shared humanity. Music communicates where words fail, turning differences into harmony and strangers into a community.

That spirit drives everything we do. Whether we’re bringing top artists to local classrooms, libraries, senior centers, or famous San Antonio stages, we stay committed to making every experience free and accessible to all. As we step into our next chapter, we share deep gratitude for our incredible supporters and community. Together, we are creating lasting connections of peace and hope for future generations.

At Musical Bridges Around the World, we believe that extraordinary art should never sit behind a paywall. Music is a universal human right that heals, educates and unites us all. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, every single community outreach program we hosted this year was provided 100% free of charge.

Because of your belief in our mission, financial barriers never stood in the way of connection, inspiration and discovery. Here is a look at what your support made possible across our community this past year:

• Senior Concerts: Brought 24 live performances directly to local care facilities and community centers.

• School Concerts & Curriculum: Introduced students to Indian, German and African American culture through 59 live performances and curricula shared to 58 schools.

• Concerts at Public Libraries: Turned 15 neighborhood libraries into free concert halls for local families.

• Military Guitar Lessons & Events: Provided 38 free lessons and events to veterans and service members for creative healing.

• Partnership with Social Service Agencies: Shared nearly 100 free events & classes with SAMMinistries, Battered Women’s and Children’s Center, Haven for Hope, Methodist Healthcare Ministries and YWCA.

This summer MBAW represented San Antonio at three international gatherings, building relationships with arts leaders from around the globe and bringing new ideas back to our community. These experiences strengthen our role in cultural diplomacy while expanding opportunities for artists and audiences.

Music Cities Convention
Hull, United Kingdom

Hosted by Sound Diplomacy, this international conference explored how music can strengthen cities through education, tourism, public health and economic development. MBAW shared ideas with civic and cultural leaders while bringing fresh strategies back to San Antonio.

World Federation of International Music Competitions General Assembly
Vilnius, Lithuania

MBAW joined industry leaders and directors from the world’s premier music competitions to discuss artistic excellence, innovation and the future of international competitions. The gathering strengthens global partnerships and helps ensure The Gurwitz International Piano Competition continues to grow among the world’s leading competitions.

Alink-Argerich Foundation Conference
Porto, Portugal

This conference convened piano competition directors, artists and industry professionals from around the world. Discussions focused on supporting emerging pianists and shaping the future of international piano competitions, reinforcing MBAW’s commitment to artistic excellence through The Gurwitz.
