Last Thursday Musical Bridges Art Gallery was the site of its very first private luncheon hosted by San Antonio womens group — Las Amigas. Approximately 30 guests gathered in the MBAW gallery adorned with pointsettas and christmas trees; enjoying photography, art, and the company of their friends.
Several months ago Las Amigas members asked MBAW Artistic Director Dr. Anya Grokhovski to speak in front of the group about her life, experience and the history of MBAW. Anya decided to surprise the group of 30 guests with a 30-minute piano for four hands program with fellow pianist Alena Gorina.
The group received the performance well — offering thanks by means of an enthusiastic standing ovation for the Duo when they finished their last piece.
A luncheon followed the performance catered by FrankieB’s Bakery. A delicious spread of salad, roasted vegetables, manicotti, and other hot dishes were served along with miniature desserts — enjoyed by all.
