Musical Bridges Around the World is proud to report another successful segment of our community outreach Kids to Concerts program at no charge to the schools visited!

Last Thursday & Friday Antonio Granjero and Estefania Ramirez of Entreflamenco Company visited 5 San Antonio schools:  Larkspur Elementary, Stone Oak Elementary, Madison Elementary, Scobee Elementary & Collins Garden Elementary.

MBAW’s interactive and exciting program incorporated TEKS and STEM curriculum-teaching the culture and geography of Spain through music.

About 2,500 children learned about flamenco, rythm & sound, history, ethnic instruments, and Spanish language during the 40 minute program.

Antonio & Estefania brought three of their students from their Children’s Flamenco Program to dance as well.  The students in the audience were very excited to see children their age performing on stage!

During each program, the artists selected about 20 students from the audience to join them on stage and learn the art of flamenco.  (Some of the teachers and principals joined them on stage as they wanted to learn too!)  By the end of the program, many of the students and teachers were cheering, “Ole!”

We are looking forward to our next segment with Sandeep Das from India on May 1st & 2nd!  For details on how to bring the Kids to Concerts program to your school please call Diana Tatu (210) 900-3081 or email diana@musicalbridges.org.
