Concert pianist Yedam Kim of South Korea returns to San Antonio for a spectacular solo piano performance for the final season 24 concert of Russell Hill Rogers Musical Evenings at San Fernando Cathedral.
Kim is the 2020 Silver medalist of The Gurwitz International Piano Competition, which Musical Bridges Around the World held in San Antonio, TX in February 2020 right before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Born in South Korea, Yedam Kim started piano at the age of 6 with Eun-Ock Kim and Hae-jeon Lee. After many prizes at national piano competitions and her 2002 debut recital in Seoul, she moved to Paris, France. Yedam graduated with a Masters degree at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (CNSM de Paris) in 2010 with Henri Barda and Bruno Rigutto, her Postgraduate degree in 2013 at the Salzburg Mozarteum with Jacques Rouvier and obtained the ‘Diplôme de Concertiste’ at Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris in 2015. She also graduated with a Masters of Opera Coach at CNSM de Paris and studied with Rena Shereshevskaya until 2019.
Kim is a prizewinner of several international piano competitions, most recently 4th prize in the Cleveland International Piano Competition in 2021 and 2nd prize in The Gurwitz International Piano Competition (San Antonio, TX) in 2020. Other past accolades include 2nd prize in the Porto Santa Cecilia International Competition, 6th prize in the Seoul International Competition, 6th prize in the Hong Kong International Competition, and 2nd prize in the Epinal International Competition. She was also a semi-finalist in the Queen Elizabeth International Competition.
Yedam has performed in prestigious halls throughout Europe, the United States, and South Korea as a soloist, chamber musician, and with orchestra. Examples include the Konzerthaus in Berlin, Salle Pleyel, Salle Cortot, Théatre du Châtelet, and the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow.

Yes, but they are free! Seating is first-come-first-served.

To help our attendants, please have your ticket ready when you get there. Attendants will be ready to scan the QR code on your ticket (print, email, or app).
– What if I forget to get a ticket(s) or don’t have one when I get there?
An attendant at the door can help you register and get in quickly and easily. If you have registered but have forgotten the ticket, an attendant can pull up your name and check you in manually.
– What are the current health protocols I need to follow?
Masks are currently strongly encouraged for unvaccinated individuals.
– How do I get to the San Fernando Cathedral? Where do I park?
The San Fernando Cathedral lies at the center of downtown San Antonio at: 115 Main Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205.
While there is no dedicated parking for the Cathedral, there are many close parking options. City Paystations and meters are FREE on Sundays, and you can find more info and options on our website here.
There are three (3) main entrances to the Cathedral: two (2) main front (east) entrances off Main Plaza and one (1) side entrance for wheelchair-accessibility on the left (south) side.
– Can I take picture(s) or video(s)?
No flash photography. We ask that you limit photos or videos to a minimum during the actual performance as a courtesy to our artists.
– Is there a dessert reception after the concerts like last physical season?
Until further notice, the Meet The Artist receptions after performances will be cancelled due to health & safety concerns.
– When will tickets for the next concert of Russell Hill Rogers Musical Evenings at San Fernando Cathedral be available?
Tickets for the next concert open up after this event has concluded. Because this is the last concert of the season, tickets for next season will open up in Fall 2022.
