Musical Bridges Around the World’s first performers were members of CEO Anya Grokhovski’s family, students, and friends. This concert brings them together again, as Anya takes the stage with pianist Valeri Grokhovski, bassist Zlatan Redzic, percussionist Darren Kuper, violinist Mark Cheikhet, pianist Elena Portnaya, Agarita Chamber Ensemble, and mezzo-soprano Veronica Williams. All generations of musicians will unite in celebrating, reuniting, and contributing to a shared peace that comes through music.
Once ticket registration fills up, all others will be subject to join a waitlist. MBAW will check in with ticket holders multiple times leading up to the concert if they are still coming. Any cancellations will open ticket registration to those on the waitlist. Because it is a free event, MBAW will open seating to anyone still on the waitlist (and any walk-ins) at 6:30 PM, 30 minutes before the performance. Seating is unassigned.
MBAW’s 25th Anniversary Season books with in-depth festival programs will be available for sale at each UNITYFest event for $20 (tax-free – cash, card, checks accepted) or for preorder online here for pickup at the event (provide name on order). Performing artists will be available to sign after the concert.
UnityFest creates meaningful connections through cross-cultural collaborations and celebrates our common humanity. A union of classical and contemporary music from near and far defines our place in this melting pot that is San Antonio. Thanks to the National Endowment for the Arts for sponsoring UNITYFest 2023!
