Named after the muse behind one of Johannes Brahms’s most beautiful chamber works, this acclaimed French string quartet has rapidly ascended to the global stage as ECHO Rising Stars. Combining rigorous European classical training with a distinctly French sensibility, they bring deeply moving interpretations to the world’s most prestigious concert halls.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Quatuor Agate
Formed in 2016 and named after Brahms’s Second Sextet, Quatuor Agate is a French string quartet that has quickly risen to international prominence. Distinguished in competitions including the Banff International String Quartet Competition and the Young Classical Artists Trust in London, they have performed at major venues including the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall, and Philharmonie de Paris.
Their debut album featuring the complete Brahms String Quartets was released in 2024, and they are currently residents of the Conservatoire Rachmaninoff in Paris. The 2025/26 season sees them tour the US, Canada, and Mexico, with upcoming residencies in Germany and Australia.
