Musical Bridges is pleased to welcome Subia Ahmad as its Director of Marketing and Development!
Subia brings with her more than ten years of experience in nonprofit development and donor relations, public relations, and government affairs. Originally from San Antonio, Subia recently returned to the city after spending a number of years in both southern and northern California. On behalf of Musical Bridges, she will be focusing on expanding membership, corporate giving, and marketing.
Our Subia Story
Last fall, Musical Bridges approached the San Antonio Area Foundation (SAAF) for a strengthening non-profits grant, and our Board of Directors focused on analyzing our current marketing strategies. SAAF awarded us $15,000 to hire a marketing consultant, create a three-year marketing plan, and improve overall marketing strategies. After working with aMAEzing Marketing & Special Events, we found that our greatest need was to dedicate a staff member to implement our new marketing plan.
In a stroke of serendipity, Board member Suhail Arastu and came back into touch with Subia after she returned to San Antonio, and learned of her background in communications and fundraising. He recommended her to Artistic Director Anya Grokhovski, and the two instantly hit it off. Subia and Anya are now hard at work implementing the first phase of the strategic marketing plan.
