Indian Kaleidoscopes at Kids to Concerts

On November 1st and 2nd, over 2,000 students from five San Antonio public schools were treated to the Kids to Concerts presentation of “Indian Kaleidoscopes”.

These concerts explored the rich history of the Indian dance style, “Bharata Natyam” and were performed by Anuradha Naimpally of Austin Dance India.

Children from Scobee Middle School, Big Country Elementary, Bob Hope Elementary, Sun Valley Elementary and Medio Creek Elementary were enthralled by Ms. Naimpally’s popular presentation of Movement and Mythology, which incorporates storytelling, clapping of rhythms, hand signing and dance.  The performances were also well-received by the teachers, with several of them emailing Musical Bridges immediately after the performance to express their appreciation.

A special thanks to our Sponsors for making these Kids to Concerts performances possible:
Central Texas Pain Center and Dr. Eric Miller, Texas Commission on the Arts, San Antonio Office of Cultural Affairs, Kronkosky Charitable Foundation, Valero Energy Corporation, NuStar, Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation, and Elizabeth Huth Coates Foundation.

Kids to Concerts is a free educational outreach program that brings the inimitable experience of live performing arts directly to at-risk children around San Antonio in schools that lack funding for arts and music programs — at no charge to the schools visited.
