“Spanish Sojourn” Bagpipes at Kids to Concerts

On December 3rd and 4th, the exotic melodies of Galician bagpiper Cristina Pato rang out for public school students in five Kids to Concerts “Spanish Sojourn” performances. Over 1,500 children from Memorial, Morningside and Klein Road Elementary Schools in New Braunfels ISD, and 800 children from MH Specht and Timberwood Park Elementary Schools in Comal ISD participated. Indian Kaleidoscopes at Kids to Concerts

On November 1st and 2nd, over 2,000 students from five San Antonio public schools were treated to the Kids to Concerts presentation of “Indian Kaleidoscopes”. These concerts explored the rich history of the Indian dance style, “Bharata Natyam” and were performed by Anuradha Naimpally of Austin Dance India. Children from Scobee Middle School, Big Country Elementary, Bob Hope Elementary, Sun Valley Elementary and Medio Creek Elementary were enthralled by Ms. Naimpally’s popular presentation of Movement and Mythology, which incorporates storytelling, clapping of rhythms, hand signing and dance.  The performances were also well-received by the teachers, with several of them emailing […]

Diaz, Board member, 2012 – 2015 Ms. Diaz is originally from Puerto Rico and has lived in San Antonio since 1997. She works for the City of San Antonio’s Department of Human Services and has a long career in administration and human resources for the private and public sector, including the United States federal government and American Airlines. At the meeting of the Board of Directors on August 18, 2012, Musical Bridges welcomed a new Chair of the Board! Dr. Eric Miller, Chair of the Board, 2012-2015 We are pleased to announce that Eric Miller, MD was elected to lead the Board in the next three years as its new Chair. Dr. Miller is the founder of Central Texas Pain Center, and his practice now has locations in San Antonio, New Braunfels, San Marcos, and Austin and serves more than 7,000 patients each year.
