Julie Nathanielsz has been researching connections between sense perception and dance composition, in solo and group forms, for over ten years. Her piece Isabella (2008) was nominated for two Austin Critics Table awards. Most recently she has directed The Meeting Point, an ongoing enquiry into real-time ensemble performance, for which she has also choreographed Working the Line (2010). Julie is deeply influenced by a physical practice woven from studies in instant composition, meditation, Body Mind Centering, and Releasing. She was a member of dance-theatre company Margery Segal/NERVE for eight years and holds an MFA from the University of Texas at Austin.
