Alexey Sychev

Russian pianist Alexey Sychev is the First Prize winner of three International Liszt Competitions and a laureate of numerous international piano competitions across four continents.

In 2019, Alexey won First Prizes at the 11th International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Parma, Italy, at the International Piano Competition Tucuman in Argentina and at the Steinway Competition in Germany. In 2018, he received Third Prize at the 11th Dublin International Piano Competition from the President of Ireland. The same year he became a laureate of Third Prize at the 64th Maria Canals International Music Competition in Barcelona. In 2015, Alexey Sychev received the First Prize, the Audience Prize and a special prize for the Best Liszt Sonata Performance at the 8th International Franz Liszt Piano Competition Weimar-Bayreuth. In 2014, he won the First Prize at the 41st International Musical Competition “Dr. Luis Sigall”, Chile. In 2009, he received the First Prize at the International Piano Competition “Premio Franz Liszt” under the chairmanship of Martha Argerich.

Alexey has given solo recitals and has performed with orchestras in more than 20 countries. Performance venues include the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Sala de Concerts of Palau de la Música in Barcelona, the National Concert Hall of Ireland, the Gulbenkian Hall in Lisbon, the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Salle Cortot in Paris, the Rudolfinum Hall in Prague, Sala Argentina in Buenos Aires and the National Congress of Chile. He recorded his debut CD at Czech Radio.

Alexey had been a holder of the Mendelssohn scholarship (Germany) and scholarships from the “Russian Art of Performance” Foundation, M. Rostropovich Foundation, and Constantine Orbelian Foundation. He continues his musical education at the University of Münster pursuing Konzertexamen degree with Arnulf von Arnim as a holder of German Academic Exchange scholarship.
