Pasquale Iannone

A pianist of international renown, Pasquale Iannone graduated cum laude from the Bari ‘N. Piccinni’ Conservatory with Gregorio Goffredo in 1984, and pursued further studies with Aldo Ciccolini, Marisa Somma. In 1987 he earned the Diploma with honors at the Royal College of Music in London, and since 1992 has been associated with Eugenio Bagnoli at the Fondazione ‘G. Cini’ of Venice.

The pianist has won national and international competitions including the ‘A. Casella’ (Naples 1989) and ‘Carlo Zecchi’ (Rome 1991). Iannone was a top prize winner at the prestigious ‘Gina Bachauer’ International Piano Competition (U.S.A. 1994), and was awarded the Second Prize and the Fauré Prize at the New Orleans International Piano Competition (1995). He succeeded in the ‘Web Concert Hall International Competition’ (USA 2003), winning both as  soloist and as a piano duo with his wife Paola Bruni. They have been invited by prestigious concert societies to perform around the world. He was also awarded the ‘Foyer 2005’ Prize in Rome.

In the last years, highly acclaimed performances have included the Poulenc Two Piano Concerto played with Aldo Ciccolini, appearances in recital and as soloist with orchestra in Japan, two concerts in Carnegie Hall (Stern Hall) in New York, the Piano Concerto op.59 by Moszkowsky in Germany and in Milan, Italy, and the Scharwenka’s Piano Concerto n.4. In the last two years, Iannone played as recitalist and as soloist with orchestras in Italy, Romania, Japan, France, the U.S.A. and Germany.
