Spanish, Mexican and Latin music with modern and latin jazz styling! Incomparable Mexican jazz singer Magos Herrera will be joined by Victor Prieto, accordion virtuoso from Galicia and Musical Bridges’ favorite San Antonio jazz trio featuring Aaron Prado on piano.
Sam Reider and the Human Hands bring irresistible melodies and fiery improvisation to a mashup of Reider’s own creation, blending contemporary composition techniques with American jazz, folk, and pop tunes from around the globe.
The Miró Quartet, one of America’s most celebrated string quartets, performs Haydn’s incredible “The Lark” as well as jazz legend Wynton Marsalis’s “Meeelan” with bassoonist Kristin Wolfe Jensen, professor of Bassoon at UT Austin’s Butler School of Music.
Virtuoso concert pianists Yaron Kohlberg of Israel and Bishara Haroni of Palestine make up the two halves of Duo Amal. Their name “Amal” means “Hope” in Arabic, reflecting their belief that music can overcome different backgrounds and cultural boundaries.
Children and families are invited to this outdoor event with music, dance, and interactive activities representing different international cultures, including Spanish flamenco, American jazz, Mexican mariachi, Indian dance, and European renaissance.
