Julya Jara, CFRE

Director of Development

Born in Czechoslovakia, raised in Latvia, Julya Jara studied and worked in Russia before emigrating to the US. She has attended The Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute in Moscow, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater. She then worked in Russian television as an economics news correspondent, weather forecast presenter, and broadcast journalist, as well as acting in theatre and film. Since settling in San Antonio, Julya has acted in local theatres and worked as a photographer, videographer and video editor. As a multidisciplinary artist, she was a part of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program. In 2016, she joined the Musical Bridges’ team where she now works as Director of Development. Mrs. Jara is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). She also serves on the boards of FANs (Friends of the Arts and Northwest Vista College) and ISSA (International School of San Antonio).
