Musical Bridges’ Second Art Gallery Opening, Huge Success!

Saturday, January 25th, Musical Bridges’ Art Gallery held it’s second opening. Susan Dunis, permanent San Antonio artist and one of MBAW’s founders “wowed” guests with her unique glowing adoration of nature. More than 100 people stopped by to celebrate and admire Susan’s artwork. Musical Bridges ever-famous hospitality included beautiful guitar music by Robert Garcia, as well as a fabulous wine and hors d’oeuvres reception. As soon as we arrived to New York we got screwed. A great looking and know-it-all guy offered his limousine so elegantly and quickly that I did not get a chance to think. During the short and pleasant drive filled with conversation about his family in Egypt my feeling of being screwed grew by the minute. Yesterday Musical Bridges’ Artistic Director Anya Grokhovski returned from New York where she attended the Chamber Music America Conference. The purpose of this trip was to find new and exciting talent for Musical Bridges’ future programming and take part in ongoing conversations about the future of chamber music in America. Workshops and artist showcases presented an impressive group of young and seasoned musicians with very diverse programming. MBAW Russian Piano Duo Debuts in Austin

MBAW’s own Artistic Director Anya Grokhovski and concert pianist Alena Gorina performed a piano recital Monday night in Austin. The piano program for 4 hands of Mozart, Faure, Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky was a benefit for a charity and was received with great enthusiasm by the audience.
